During this combined theoretical and practical workshop, we will explore the theory of Cupping and Gua Sha therapy. This course is suitable for those with a background in bodywork who are looking to expand their tool kit to benefit their clients. It is delivered through a blend of online learning and in-person practical workshops.

The background to cupping and Gua Sha therapy will be delivered through our online learning platform. This includes watch-on-demand recordings that will cover all theoretical components including:

  • An understanding of the physiological effects on the body from an Eastern and Western medical perspective
  • Common indications and regions to be treated
  • Common cautions and contraindications including considerations of consent and remnant markings from treatment
  • Application techniques
  • Aspects of dosage
  • Chinese liniments

The practical workshops will include:

  • Demonstration of the application of Gua Sha and glass fire cupping (both fixed and sliding).
  • Space for supervised practice to calibrate pressure and technique
  • Time for questions and answers surrounding this practice and its integration into your treatment toolkit

During our one-day workshop all theory and practice is integrated on the day

NB This workshop is for students who already have experience in bodywork therapies. It is not suitable for those without a massage/bodywork background

Two 2.5-hour classes will be on Thursday evenings at the CERES Learning Centre in East Brunswick on Thursday 7th and 14th of August.

Short Course Financial Agreement

I agree to pay the non-refundable Australian Shiatsu College Application Deposit.

I agree to pay my College fees by the dates according to my payment schedule.

I am aware that any outstanding balance must be paid in full if I need to defer or withdraw from the course at any time.

Payment Arrangements

  1. It is the requirement of ASC that tuition fees, administration fees or other charge must be paid at the beginning of each term or in accordance with agreed fee payment schedule.
  2. Payments are recorded on the student individual fee card.
  3. Course costs (tuition fees) include tea/coffee/class notes/handouts. Students will be required to provide their own books, pens, pencils, etc. Excursion costs are not included in the course costs.
  4. If any student is experiencing financial difficulties, they are encouraged to notify the appropriate ASC staff and a suitable payment arrangement may be made.

Non-Payment of Fees

If the student does not pay all fees and charges by the due date they are deemed to be an ASC debtor. Late payment of fees may incur a penalty fee, which is determined by the College Directors. Failure to pay a debt within a timeframe set by the College Directors of the original due date, may result in any or all of the following, until the full amount is paid:

  1. Suspension of the student from attending or participating in the course;
  2. Loss of access to ASC resources and facilities;
  3. Termination of the enrolment;
  4. Referral to Debt Collector recovery agency.

ASC Refund PolicyRefunds

  1. Where the College cancels a course a full refund will be given.
  2. When a student does not commence a subject on the start date, and subsequently provides a written notice of withdrawal from the course within 10 or less working days, upon application the student will receive a full refund less an administration fee.
  3. The Week Four Withdrawal Deadline is the last day to withdraw from a course. Students who withdraw after the Week Four Withdrawal Deadline will be responsible for all tuition fees agreed to for units enrolled in the given semester.
  4. Under exceptional circumstances the directors may at their discretion and based on the percentage of course completed, issue partial course tuition fees where evidence is provided to support the student’s circumstances which indicate that the student is unable to continue their studies.

I understand that this signature constitutes a binding agreement to comply with all stated conditions regarding course fees, payment schedules, refund policies, and any other financial obligations outlined in this document.
